Most people believe that those Corpers died as a result of the hard training in camp issued by the Soldiers. Many parents would say their child was okay before he left for orientation camp. That is the major reason that led to the idea of the mandated medical certificate. They just need it as a proof that PCMs are fit for orientation camp. 2. Only Government and Military hospitals are recognized

Government hospitals are hospitals owned by the federal or any of the state governments and any of its agencies.


These include hospitals owned by the Military, Police, Customs, Federal Medical Centres, Teaching Hospitals, General Hospitals, Government Specialist Hospitals, etc.


Using a private hospital or a family hospital if there is anything like that would land you in a greater stress when you are not allowed to enter the orientation camp.
3. Can I Use My Friend Own?

No, you cannot use your friends own. Your name have to be on the test result. It’s really so funny someone will want to photocopy their friends medical report and think it will be accepted.
4. It Is Mandatory

Yes it was Mandated by the NYSC management. Remember NYSC is under the Military, and if the Military issue a mandate, any Civilian that fails to comply is on his/her own.

5. Only Doctors Employed by Government or Military Hospital can sign the Cert for you.

The Certificate of Medical Fitness must be issued ONLY by a doctor under the employment of a Government or Military Hospital. Don’t carry out the tests in a Government laboratory and get a private hospital to issue you the certificate. Such certificates would be unfit for purpose.
6. You have to understand the 5 (five) above points and abide by it.

From Mando park in Kaduna, get a vehicle going to Yauri/Kontagora, drop at Yauri. From Yauri, get a vehicle going to Koko.

After dropping at Koko, get a straight cab to the orientation camp located at Dakingari. From Ibadan, get a vehicle going to Kontagora, Niger state, drop at Kontagora and get a vehicle going to Koko.

6. Kano State Camp: The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kano State is located at Kusala Dam, Karaye, Karaye Local Government, Kano State.

Road guide

On your way to Kano state, tell the driver to drop you at Unguwa uku. When he stops, you’ll see buses waiting to drop people at Karaye camp at the rate of 500 to 700 naira.

If the driver didn’t stop you at Unguwa uku, then stop at the final bus stop, Sabon-gari park at new road and board a Keke to Bata for 50 to 70 naira. From there, find a bus to Kabuga park, when you’d get to Kabuga park, board a bus to Karaye camp.

7. Nassarawa State Camp: This is another best camp in Nigeria. The NYSC Orientation camp in Nassarawa State is located at Magaji Dan-Yamusa Permanent Orientation Camp, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

From Abuja, board a bus and stop at Mararaba, and take about 200 naira bus to Keffi and tell the driver to stop you at the NYSC orientation camp.

8. Lagos State Camp: Lagos State NYSC Camp: The NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Lagos State is located at; Iyana Ipaja, Agege, Lagos State.

From Jos, take a straight bus to Mangu where the orientation camp is located, at the rate of 500 naira. The journey will take 45 minutes to 1 hour.

NYSC approves white, shoulder-length hijab for corps members

The National Youth Service Corps has said that it will allow female corps members, who are Muslims, to use white, shoulder-length hijabs for religious purposes.

The NYSC added that only three types of dressing used for different occasions would be acceptable for corps members.
The corps stated this in a document exclusively obtained by our correspondent in Abuja.
The document reads, “The modes of dressing for corps members are classified into three categories, which are used for different occasions. One, within the camp during the orientation programme, their normal attire, except otherwise directed, consists of a pair of white shorts with a white vest and white canvas shoes and socks.

“Two, for ceremonial purposes, the proper dressing is crested vest on top of a pair of Khaki trousers with a pair of jungle boots and socks with the trouser folded inside the socks. The belt and the Fez cap are to match.“Three, for Man O’War activities at the camp and Community Development Service programmes, they are expected to appear in a jacket and trousers with the plain white vest inside, the jungle boot and the Fez cap, as well as a customised belt to match.
“On the use of the hijab, the NYSC does not issue the hijab as part of its uniform. However, the NYSC management allows corps members to use a white hijab that drops at shoulder level for religious purposes.”
The scheme in the document listed the complete dress kit issued to a corps member as: a set of Khaki trouser and jacket, one crested vest, a pair of jungle boot, two pairs of white shorts, two plain white vests, a pair of white canvas shoes, one Fez cap, two pairs of customised socks and a customised belt.

In this post today, I am going to show you a special trick or let me call it a hack that can make you follow the NYSC Stream of your choice. By the time you finish reading this, you will know what you need to do to follow either Stream I or Stream II.

The NYSC splitting of Streams became important a while ago because of the population of PCM and the resources available at each NYSC orientation camps.

The NYSC management selects PCM for a particular stream randomly independent of tribe, institution, color, state, course or grade. This kind of makes it hard to guess the Stream you are likely to follow.

How To Follow A Stream Of Your Choice

To follow a Stream of your choice, all you have to do is register late if you want Stream II and register very fast if you want Stream I. Yes! It is As simple as that. Some people will say, ‘yeah! I thought of that.’ Others will be like, ‘how come I never thought of that’.

The idea is that, once the online registration begins, if you register very fast within the first 3-5 days you have just increased your chance of going with Stream I by 96%. If you do your online registration during the last 3-5 days that the registration will close, you have just increased your chance of going with Stream II by 96%.

It’s just as simple as that. If you want Stream I, register early and if you want Stream II, register very late. And if you are too late and allow the registration portal to close, you will go with next batch.

NYSC Registration Requirements For Batch C 2019 – Official

This is very important information:
In order to ensure a seamless registration, prospective corps members are to note the following for strict compliance:

1. The Website address is any of the following:
www.nysc.gov.ng
nysc.org.ng

2. Prospective Corps members should ensure that they have functional e-mail addresses that they can access and Nigerian (GSM) telephone numbers with which to register. They will use the Email address and password to login to the NYSC portal subsequently and so are advised to keep it safe

3. Locally trained prospective Corps members are expected to use correct Matriculation numbers to register

4. For locally-trained graduates, only those whose names appear in the Senate/Academic Board Approved Result lists submitted by their Institutions will have access to the register on the NYSC portal.

5. Foreign-trained prospective corps members/those who acquired on-line qualifications should ensure that their Institutions are accredited. They should approach Federal Ministry of Education for evaluation. The letter of evaluation must be uploaded during registration.

6. Those who graduated from Institutions outside Nigeria, (Foreign-trained graduates) or obtained on-line foreign certifications, are to visit the NYSC portal, register and upload the following documents:
West African School Certificate(WASC) (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or General Certificate of Education (GCE O’ Level) (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or NECO (with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its equivalent; or
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate (Second Degree or Ph.D not necessary).
Complete Official Transcript of the first Degree or HND.
International travelling Passport showing personal data page and date of departure.
ATTESTATION LETTERS OR TESTIMONIALS are not acceptable in lieu of original Degree/HND Certificates.
All working class Graduates and graduates of on-line foreign qualifications are required to upload their original ADMISSION
LETTERS and LETTER OF APPROVAL from their respective employers to undertake their courses, as the case may be.
All graduates of Medicine and other health related courses such as Nursing Science, Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy etc
MUST posses and upload current-professional license. Expired license is not acceptable for mobilization.

7. It is the responsibility of the prospective corps members who studied in non-English speaking countries to get their Certificates and Transcripts translated into English language before uploading. Such translation must be done in the accredited Institutions or Embassies.

8. All graduates of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotheraphy, Radiology, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy are expected to have their Certificates of Registration with their professional bodies. Payment receipts are not acceptable.

9. Unlike in the past, Foreign-trained graduates should NOT visit NYSC Headquarters, Abuja for verification of their documents. This exercise will now be done at the Orientation Camps. They should simply print their call-up letters on-line and report at the Orientation camps in their States of deployment, but should come to the camp with the original documents they uploaded for verification.

10. Anybody who presents any fake document will be demobilized and decamped and handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

11. Prospective corps members should ensure that Passport photographs used meet the following specifications:

a. Ensure your face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and jaw) is fully shown without bending
b. Ensure the picture fills the frame and centralized
c. Ensure the Photo background is white or off-white with no shadow.

12. On no account should prospective corps members register by PROXY. They should also remember the fingers used for their biometric capturing as these will be used for verification at the orientation camps. Those who cannot be verified with their biometric at the orientation camp will not be registered.

13. Only prospective corps members who want their call-up numbers sent to them through SMS and wish to PRINT their call-up letters on-line are expected to pay N2,786.24 (see NYSC Portal on how to make payment).

14. Prospective Corps members who do not want to pay the N2,786.24 have the option of going to their schools to collect their call-up numbers and call-up letters.

15. All prospective corps members who paid for the online registration before but were not mobilized need not pay again.

16. Married female prospective corps members (whether locally or foreign-trained) should upload copies of their marriage Certificates, evidence of Change of name and their husbands’ place of domicile during registration.

17. The orientation camp is highly not ideal for pregnant and nursing mothers. Prospective corps members in this categoriy are therefore to note that they will not be accommodated.

18. Prospective corps members who graduated from Institutions located in the following Geo-Political Zones with challenges related to mobilization should contact the following Telephone Numbers.
